I realized that it has been quite a while since I posted here. I haven’t forgotten to write, but life has been rather busy over the last six months or so. This is not to say I want to neglect my writing as things get busier. In fact, I want to do more as things get busier.
On the topic of my Who Review, I do intend to finish reviewing the most recent series. However, I have to finish watching the series. Frankly, I was bored and frustrated with the first half of the series. That’s not really an excuse to stop watching and writing if I want people to take my critiques seriously, but it’s the reality of the situation.
Life has been interesting. For those who know what’s been happening over the last few years, know that it’s getting better. For those who don’t know all that’s occurred, please don’t ask. Simply know that dark times are starting to see the light. The job I started in November is a big part of that, but it’s also been the support of family and friends.
So, I do intend to get back on track with my blogging. I also have been working on a new draft of my novel, The Cause. It’s set to be a complex science fiction thriller, so it will take me a while to finish. The first handwritten draft took me about 60 days to complete a couple of summers ago. I let it sit for nearly 18 months as I contemplated all the changes I wanted to make. Also, because the results were both draining and terrible.
Most notably, I want to expand my cast of characters while bringing more consistency to the existing characters. I want to bring more focus on the primary female protagonist because I find her far more interesting than the male lead. I may, in fact, make her the focus character.
I may be overreaching even my considerable talents, but I also need to polish and expand the very confused initial plot. As I said, it is intended to be complex. Instead, it was boring and confusing. However, I think I’ve got some good ideas for fixing things.
Maybe I’ll even finish in a couple of years.
So, that’s sort of the state of things. We mourn the passing of Sir Terry Pratchett and Leonard Nimoy. We are totally stoked for the return of Ahsoka Tank on Star Wars Rebels. And I am excited about my future with a good company.
Live long and prosper.
